- ?g»a -- A Portable Record Player The following students were not present at school when the pictures were taken or their pictures did not come out because of some difficulty; Lucy Arellano, Domingo Arrellin, Ruben Castillo, David Debusk, Leon Eaton, Leona Eaton, Robert Fiores, Karen Kirk, Eugene Land, Linda Mendoza, Nikki Novotny, Albert Rodriguez, Rosario Rosas, Richardo Sandoval, and David Sierra. Bryan Bartlett, with 3.611 grade point average, and Karen V alker, with 3.947 grade point average, both for three semesters, were the scholars for the sophomore class. Kathi Willis, the sophomore class treasurer, is receiving tickets from Tommy Foy. The tickets were for a portable record player and five top tunes. Each sophomore was re- quired to sell at least two tickets. The sale was termed a success. The winner of the record player and the five top tunes was Olivia Cebollos. 149

Officers Help class officers are Ralph Walker; student council representa- tive, Christine Garcia; vice president, Gayle Dowding; secre- tary, Sheryl Parker; student council representative, Joe Ama- dor; student council representative, Gloria Lopez; treasurer, and Salvador Estrada; president. Sponsors are Catherine Smith, chairman, Mary Hudson, Elsie Mann and George Brown. Not pictured are William Gray and Fred Byrd. Juniors class activities commenced with election of class officers, as the parliamentary procedure is an important part in guiding the members of the Junior class throughout the year with its activities, such as the enchilada supper, the prom, and the receiving of the class rings. Also this year to help prepare for the activities, the class sold class pins. 150
