Art Club Holds Banquet At Luisa ' s FRONT ROW: Socorro Plccenclo, Linda Perez, Rose Ann Gutierrez, Patsy Rascon, Lupe Torres, Betty Sanchez, Rachel Sanchez. SECOND ROW: Steve Provencio, YolancJa Gutierrez, Lupe Martinez, Grace Morales, Corina Smith, Christina Sandoval, Matilda Lopez, Yolando Rascon, Gloria Alvidrez. BACK ROW: Joe Y. The banquet at Luisia ' s was a major activity of tire Art Club this year. They also raffled off a red poodle which was won by Dorothy Guerra, and as in past years helped decorating committees work on formal dances at Cobre. The club is for students interested in art and enrolled in art or drawing and design classes. The officers are: Larry Benavidez, president; Grace Morales, vice president; Henry Morales, treas- urer; Frank Lopez, secretary; and Mr. Charles Moore, sponsor. Banquet La Francois, better known os the Cobre High French Club, is open to anyone who has taken or is taking French. Most meetings were held before or after school and were presided over by Frances Gomez. Other officers included Christina Horcasitos, vice president, Sarah Vencill, secretary, and Martha Holguin, treasurer. French Club initiation was held in the auditorium with the French Revolution as the theme. Activities included participation in Christmas decoration basket, and program. The members highlighted the year with their banquet. The French Provincial decor of Mrs. Thayer ' s home added to the French atmosphere of the dinner. Mr. Jarrett purchases fudge from Frances Gomez and Linda Trujillo. Club members sold fudge the week they shared the profits in the con- cession stand. Barbara Biebelle pays her second semester dues to Donna Fleming and Martha Holguin, treas- urer. V v ' ' J 103
