Four Quill % Scroll Members Receive Publication Awards Terry Wofford, Mary Sue Evatt, Emily Smith and Fra;ices Gomez received awards for outstanding service in publications. Quili Scroll is an honor organization for publication students in the upper third of the junior and senior classes. This year the members met at Luisa ' s where they held their annual banquet. Barbara Biebelle was elected president; Rosalina Alderette, vice- president; Sue Evatt, secretai and Penni Wright, treasurer. Special awards were presented to Mary Sue Evatt and Emily Smith for earning the highest number of points and selling the most ads on their respective staffs. Frances Gomez received the Quill Scroll award for creative writing and Terry Wofford re- ceived a Herf-Jones key as outstanding edi- tor in 1966. 1. Modern Music Masters is an honorary club for all students who have lettered In either chorus, band or orchestra, and who have maintained at least a ' C overage. Officers are Janie Shinn, president; Donny Green, vice president; and Dolores Sandoval, secretary- treasurer. At the beginning of the year Tri-M members attended a dinner held for the initiates at the Drifter. Amanda Oliver and Margo Edwards provided the entertainment. The club sponsored a hootenanny which featured Tyrone Morris and Miss Ronnie Finnegan, folksingers. Members traveled to El Paso to see TIARA, an operetta presented at Texas Western University. Math Club Purchases Books FRONT ROW: Frances Gomez, Roberta Ranyon, Dolores Sandoval, Rosemarie Valencia, Ivan Apodaca, Clark McNoughton. SECOND ROW: Jonie Shinn, Judy Gonzales, Robby Davis, Mr. Larry Crondall, sponsor. Math Club membership was open to all interested juniors and seniors who enrolled in accelerated mathe- matics classes. The members agreed to buy mathematics books to be used by students interested in pursuing math further. Officers were Janie Shinn, president; Frances Gomez, vice president; Dolores Sandoval, secre- tary; and Rosemarie Valencia, treas- urer. The club was sponsored by Mr. Larry Crandall. Janie Shinn explains tangents of slopes to Frances Gomez, Dolores Sandoval, and Rosemarie Valencia. The members of math club convene for a regular meeting. 100
