Hot Springs Tigers Z8-7 In finishing an undefeated season, the Wildcats outplayed the Indians to gain the win, The Indians were unable to get the ball rolling, perhaps they still felt the sting of last week's loss at the hands of the Wildcats. Ernie Thais, aguard, scored on a linen'1an's dream as he picked up afumble and rarnbled 38 yards for a TD. Johnny Montoya Tackle Soph Victoriano Lee Jackson JO breaks loose and gallops the distance for a TD, as Danny Holland, 73, Fred Rodriguez 33 'vlorton Womack, 70, and Herb Spangler, 39, follow up to block the 11 SENIORS GRADUATE In donning the Red and White for the last time, eleven boys played their last season of foot- ball for Cobre. Substitutions were made quite frequently in order to give the lesser members of the team a chance to get in the action. Deming Wildcats 12.-18 The Wildcats won the Dis- trict 3-A Championship when they downed the Indians ona muddy field. Mist and mud hampered both teams in this crucial battle, but the tribe suffered most as the Wildcats came out victo- rious. B TEAM SCHEDULE 3 WINS -- -- 3 DEFEATS In the opening game of the '59 season, the B Team walked over the West- ern Colt B Team by the score of 37-0. Cobre ran into a determined Wildcat Team on the Latter's home field as Deming crushed the Indians 40-13. After having three last period touchdowns called back, Cobre still rolled over Western 25-0 for their second win of the season. The invincible Bulldogs from Las Cruces shellacked the Indians 31-0. This gave the Cobre squad a 2-2 record. Deming furthered the Indian humiliation when they blanked Cobre 28-0 on the Indians home field. Playing the last game of the season, Cobre upset the mighty Las Cruces Bulldogs 25-19 and became the first Indian team to defeat Las Cruces. 93 r59fSi 1 5
