The game was a fine display of power as both teams moved the ballverywell, but the Ben- gals outscored Cobre. In keeping the Indians in the game with his passing, Jerry Herd gained praise for this game as did Ray Bailey with his fine running, '37 Lee Jackson-Fullback Sr . W 1 ' Q -5 1 Jerry Herd, 31, crashes over the goal line for a TD, as Herb Spangler, 39, and - Darry Blackman, 34, finish their fakes. This put the Indians ahead of the Western Herb Spangler-Halfback Sr. Colts 13-00 'Q . l i Jerry Herd-Quarterback Sr. Western Colts 27-0 In gaining their first win, Cobre avenged a 6-O loss handed them by last year's Colts. On the very first play of the game Darry Blackman went 46 yards for a TD which was called back, but the Indians pushed across four TD's and held the Colts scoreless to ruin Western's Homecoming. Lee Jackson, Jerry Herd and Darry Blackman scored all of the Cobre touchdowns. Darry Blackman-Halfback Sr. 89
