Twelve boys turned out early this fall for cross country running. Five of these boys returned from last year's squad. The record stood as follows for this year: four wins, second place in the sectionals, and ninth place in the Grout Invitational Meet at Schenectady. Track This year's track team was largely composed of undeeclassmen, and in spite of being young cindermen, they managed to win two dual meets and the prize County Meet which was held at Middleburg. The Cobleskill Soccer Teams unimpressive record does not indicate the close- ness of some of the games nor the spirit and drive exhibited by the team. The team will miss the six veteran seniors. but the rest all look forward to a banner year in 1954-55. - l Baseball The Colileskill Central baseball team completed a fine season with 10 wins and 2 loses w hir-h enabled them to take the Schohanna League Championship. The season included double wins oxer Milford. Cooperstown. Schenvus. and Middleburg. and splits with Srrhoharie and Wort-ester. The loss to Worcester was a 12 inning thriller. However, due to poor skiing conditions. only one meet was scheduled. Holmes. T. Peckham. Coach Bent. It is the duty of the lntramural Board to set up a program of athletics for all boys in junior and senior high school. This is done by forming intramural and interclass teams in such sports as football. basketball. volleyball. and softball. The board also sponsors an athletic banquet in honor of the cheerleaders and members of the various interscholastic teams.
