WE WERE THERE September, 1950, Cobb, Wisconsin On the bright morning of September 1, 1950, a group of fifteen witty greenhorns enrolled in the Cobb High School. The class consisted of: James Brockert, Betty Dickenson, Marlys Halverson, Patricia Holmes, Maxine Kramer, Paul Kieslich, Jon Ladd, Maureen Mahoney, Ralph Osterndorff, Betty Peterson, Lois Ralph, Richard Ritchie, Beatrice Straka, Gerald Tremelling, LeRoy Udelhoven, and Robert Zimmerman. Oh! that first dreaded day-the strangeness-the burden Cwe were weighed down with a big load of booksj. We found out that we were to transfer this load from the outside to the inside of our heads. Our class officers were: Patricia, Presidentg Jon, Vice-Presidentg Lois, Treasurer, and Maureen, Secretary. The major event of the year was initiation. We were everything that freshmen could be-timid, afraid, curious, and dumb. After some struggle on the big day we managed to become As studies, had passed, and we were official members of the high school. the year rolled by we contributed our share of talents, sports, and fun to our school life. Before we knew it the school year freshmen no more. September, 1951 September, 1951, found us back at the Cobb High School with renewed enthusiasm. It was our turn to initi- ate the freshmen. We did such a thorough job that we helped in establishing the rule of no painting on initia- tion day. Our class officers were: Marlys, President, Richard, Vice-Presidentg Betty, Secretary, and Maureen, Treasurer. We lost James Brockert, LeRoy Udelhoven, and Gerald Tremelling and gained Shelby Hughes that year. As school drew to a close we had many happy memories to carry with us throughout the summer. f 3515? Q I 1952 September, For a long time we had been thinking of the day when we could order our class rings. That day came and passed and before the middle of October we were flashing our class rings. Our class President was Jong Pat Kent, Vice-President: Betty, Sec- retary, and Beatrice, Treasurer. That year Betty Dickinson transferred to Highland, Lois Ralph to Dodgeville, and Patsy Kent joined us from Dodge- ville.

WE WERE THERE The time for our Junior Prom approached and for our theme we chose April in Paris. It was a tremendous success. Our color scheme was in pastel shades and proved to be very beautiful. Jon Ladd and Faye Ann Johnson reigned over our prom. Phillip Johnson and Sonja Peterson were the miniature king and queen. Mr. Lindauer was our advisor. We found that Shelby Hughes had failed to join us and later in the year, Maxine Kramer withdrew from school. Our pictures were taken the second week of school. Taming the Brat was the name of our class play, ably directed by Miss Studier. Our annual staff was selected, and we began working with enthusiasm to pro- duce an annual worthy of praise. With fond memories of basketball and baseball games, proms, dances, and many other activities which are a part of each high school student's life, the senior year came to an end with Baccalaureate Exercises on Sun- day Evening, May 14, Class Night Exercises on May 16, and graduation on May 19, 1954. So ends a very important chapter of our lives, a chapter that can never be forgotten. P., , Y :fn H ' .ff 41 . , is. ,gs .. 5 f i ...,, E , .
