Deadline Blues if In the summer of 1984 the 1984-85 Atheneum was just an idea, yet members of the staff were already anxiously antici- pating the final completion. The actual work began soon after- wards: ads had to be sold and more plans had to be made. Each staff member was responsible for various sections in the book. As deadlines were slowly met, the Atheneum began to take shape. After the final deadline, the waiting began. The staff was filled with apprehension and hope. Finally the completed edition arrived. The goal had been attained!
