SENIOR-CLASS HISTORY In 1946, forty-two ngreenn, bashful, retiring little Freshmen entered Coalton for the first time. We elected Joe Yeager for our Presidentg Pauline Silvester, Vice Presidentg Jean Phillips, Secretary, David Harvey, Treasurer, Pauline Silvester and Mary M. Girard, Cheerleaders. We chose for our class colors orange and black and the sweetpea for our flower. Our motto is Wwe build the ladder by which we climbw. Thirty-two of us returned in our second year with determination to make that year a successful one. Don Skidmore served as our President assisted by Eugene Marco as Vice Presidentg David Harvey, Secretary, Ruby Saffel, Treasurer, Pauline Silvesterfand Virginia Brown as Cheerleaders. Much to our regret our class had dwindled - . considerably by the time we reached our juniorfyear with only twenty-four remaining. We sold Christmas Q cards and presented a play nAlonE Came Kilroyn in order to make money for a junior- enior Banquet which ' was held in the City Restaurant. That year we began to acquire more dignity. ' This year, 1950, fthe biggest and most important year? our enrollment was twenty-three but during the first semester we lost Freda Fitzwater and in the second semester Margaret Brown dropped out. Our class officers are Ruby Saffel President' Preston Scott, Vice-President, Pauline gilvester, Cecretaryg Ruth Watson, Treasurer, Pauline Silvester and Virginia Brown, Cheerleaders. During our four successful years we have participated in all school activities, the most important, of ' course, Cto us? being basketball. Joe Yeager Don Skidmore, David Harvey played on the varsity team three years. Other activities we have taken part in are Honor Society and Student Council. The events we are now looking forward to is the Junior-Senior Banquet, Graduation Day, and Senior Day which will be the second of June.
