F R E S H M A N G L A S S We entered school in '47 with a oless of thirty- four students. Wo lost two members, Eileen Bennett and Wilma Barker. We gained one,- Eve Pingley. We had hue class party. The Home Economies girls of the Freshmen oloss have given two parties for the sohool. ?THw8TH G R A D E C L A S S le have put sway the childish things of the grade schools and have now grown wings and becom adults of the Junior-High School of Coelton. Thirty-five ' members of our group started school on September 2, and we picked up another member, Robert Kisner, to swell our ranks to th1rty-six,- nineteen boys and seventeen giTf'. Put of course the road to learning is long and dirrg alt, so a few dropped by the way. es we proceeded up the long hill. Isabell Jaggie left us first, and she was quickly followed by Esth- leen Berkley and Doris Hughes. John Shannon became 111 and was forced to leave us to struggle on with- out him. So when we reached May 1948, we had only thirty-two in our class. we did have e wonderful time, thoughg IB had par- ties, games, basketball tournaments, eto. John John- son, Bill Goddin, end Clyde Goff made the Junior High basketball team, while Frances Ross was chosen as one of the cheer leaders. Our boys' class basket- ball team joined forces with the senior class to win the class tournament, while the girls were runners- up to the Freehm n in the girls' tournament. M . Davies was our class eponsorg Bill Goddin, presidentg Phyllis Silvester, vice-presidentg Paul- ine Mace seoretaryg Richard George, treasurer. Frances hose represented our class in the Student Council. The members of the vth-Sth grades went to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Goddin and the faculty for their sid and cooperation throughout the pest school term. 1' - ooo0ooo
