.ruuxoa ctlss we, the Juniors, entered Coalton High with an enroll- ment of thirty-three. Mr. Weber was our spo sor. we a lso gold and blue for our colors. the carnetion for our flow- er, and 'All for onr, one for all'-as our motto. A party constituted the social events of our Freshman year. Our officers were: Betty Shipman, presldentg Hazel Phillips, vice-presidentg Mary Kelly, aecretaryg lrnestlne Hathaway. treasurer and Betty Shipman and Mary Lou Loudin, cheer- 68 Srl. We entered our Sophomore year with tlenty-seven members. That year the girls had one of the leading teams in girls' basketball and were runners-up in the lnter-class tourne- ments. Three of our boys played on the first five and another as a substitute. Our boys' team won the inter- olass tournament. Erneetine Hathaway and Hazel Phillips were elected to represent our class on the student ooun- cll. We had a class party in March, and nent to Seneca Caverns on May eth. On this same trip we visited the til- tration plant of the Elkins City water system. We attri- bute our success in our Sophomore year to the guidance and advice of our sponsor, Mr. Johnson. Class officers for that year were: Hazel Phillips, president: Tom Guire vice-presidentg Tom Moran, secretary and treasurer: Mary Lou Loudln, cheer-leader. we had twenty-four members in our Junior year. In three years we have gained three members and have lost four. Three Juniors were elected to the Student Council: they are Mary Kelly. Loretta Miller, and Joe Ross. Three Jun- iors were on the varsity basketball teamg they were Tom moran, Joe Ross and Viator Masterjoe. we had a party on April Fool's night and a picnic in May. The Junior girls mon the sportsmanship award at the inter-class tournament. Many Junior names were observed on the honor roll through- out tohQ years we have sold Christmas cards and raised money for the annual Junior-Senior banquet, and presented a mystery comedy 'The Ghost of Roaring P1nes'. One member of our class is now in the army and another is a naval veteran ot World War II. Under the leadership ot our class spone ser, Mr. Martin, we feel that this year has been a profit- able one. We look forward with pride to being the Seniors of Coalton'Hlgh School in '49,

Although we have lost twelve students, we have gained two. During this past year the Bophomores have taken pert in many school activities. The girls had one of the better teams in basketball.
