R I C R E A T I O N C L U E The Recreation Club was organized with these five objectives in mind: ia, tu xC1LnTQgB every student in Coalton High School to play, - through A recreation and physical education pvcgramg Qbf to make parents and patrons of Joelton High Hind, conscious of the need for recrpa ion and physical education: fel to encourage better school spirit, cheering and attendance at athletic .game-:sg Cdl to organize better and bigger intramural program for boys and girls: fel to purchase additional equip- ment for physical education and recreation. Membership in the club incl ded sixty-two boys and girls with Bob Miller, presidentg Thelma Kelly, vice-presidentg Daisy Williams, secretaryg Tom Moran, treasurer. Club activities consisted of girls' and boys' basketball: bowlingg ping-pon shuffleboard: volley ball: soft ballg badmintong superivieion of class basketball and the class intra-mural tournament. we chose as our motto: 'Every student a player'. Mr. Suba and Mr.Martin were our club sponsors. , G Ill I C L'U B The Glee club has had fifty-five members, - all girls, with Mrs. Mason as sponsor and direc- tor. Throughout the year we have led the music for all class assemblies and special programs. Folk songs, negro spirituals, and hymns have been popular with the group as well as such songs as nOle Buttermilk Skies' and WThe Old Lamp-Lighter' Club periods during the second semester have been spent on music for the eighth grade and high school commencements and the annual sermon to the seniors.
