soruouonxs f- 1947 The Sophomores entered Coalton High School with a enrollment of thirty-three. we have dwindled down to twenty-seven members: neverthe- less we still think we hare what it takes. Three of our members have dropped out and two have been gained. Hr. Ieber was the kind and able sponsor of our class when we were Freshmen. As Freshmen we gave, e class party in March of '46. We found the names of many Freshmen on the honor roll and three boys in our class played on the basketball team: - one on the regular five and the other two as sub- stitutes. Our class officers in our Freshmen year were: president, Betty Shipmang vice-president, ' Hazel Phillips, secretary, Mary Kelly: treasurer, Ernestine Hathaway: cheer-leaders, Betty Shipman and Mary Loudin. As Sophamoree we took part in many school ae- tivitiee. The girls had one of the leading teams in girls' basketball. We point with pride to the fact that three of our boys played on the first five of the basketball team and another as a de- pendable eubstitute. we also gave a class party resulting in our class president securing a black eye while playing. Many Sophomore names will be seen on the honor roll. Under the careful guid- ance and sound adtile of our sponsor, Mr. Johnson, we feel that we have made this year a profitable one. we look forward to being the Juniors of Coalton High in '4-8. Uur class officers are: president, Hazel ' Phillipsg vice-president, Tom Guireg secretary, and treasurer, Tom Moran: cheer-leader, Mary Inudin. Our class flower is the white carnation and our motto, 'All for one and one for all.'

Our class officers are as fellow: Jes Yeager, presi- dentg Pauline Silvester, vice-president: David Harvey, treasurer, Jean Phillips, sec- 1'Bt3I'yo Our cheer-leaders are Pauline Silveeter and Mary Margaret Girard and our colors are orange and black. we have as our motte, 'we build the ladder by which we o1imb.' In November 194-6 we had a class party: we invited members of the other clasees ae our guests. During the year we have lost the follow- ing students: Greta Simmons, Enid Roberts, Marie Teter, Randall Teter. we have gained the following students: Kathryn Roy, Ruby Saffel, Dencil Crawford, and Norma Crawford. Members of our class who participated in basketball are: Dencil Crawford, Joe Yeager, David Harvey, Eugene Marco, Donald Skidmore, Preston Scott, and Carroll Herron.
