PTA As we tour the two bu11d1ngs whtch represent Lewts Townshxp Grade and I-hgh School we notlce on every hand equlpment whtch our P T A has donated to the school Perhaps the orgalnza t1on wxll not mlnd 1f we enumerate some of the many thtngs they have done for us To begm w1th tn 1950 a donatlon of S1 000 was made Thxs was put on the new gym and grade bulldmg whlch we have seen become a reahty S275 was g1ven the next year In 1951 the project was an adopuon of School Lunch Program They made and donated the tables for the cafeter1a gave S112 for a hghtmg system and ever stnce they have supported that part of our school They bought the walk 1n refr1gerator steam table table servlce potato peeler and m1xer new bamboo shades The P T A has done much for the band Drum and Cymbals were bought helped to buy tmlforms and S300 donatxon For the Athlettc program P T A helped buy lockers for basketball use bought mats for protectton of those paructpatmg ln sports ln the gym They award a basketball trophy ln add1t1on to sllver basketball for the most outstand1ng player of the year They gave generously on the Pubhc Address System we have m the Gym Each year S10 IS g1ven at Commencement for the Sen1or who ranks hxghest scholastxcally for four years They purchased Bxbles one for each room Thetr latest gtft was a much needed water fountaxn 1n the gymnasxum Each year S20 has been glven to the Sen1or Class to help f1nance our annual There have been countless other thmgs but th1s w11l gxve to you some 1dea of the hard work tnvolved 1n the worthwh1le P T A orgamzatxon Thetr present offlcers are Presldent W1111am Clark Vrce Pres1dent Ruby Moyer Secretary Lucllle Reed Treasurer Betty Rector May we the Sen1or Class of 1957 say Congratulauons and thank you for everythmg your tenth anmversary S555 953' f xi3'l3E'SQr:f3

They Achieve Mary Steed a ,Tumor at Coalmont H1gh School won a trxp to the 4 H Dalry Conference at Chlcago Th1s tr1p was awarded on the basts of the ach1evement records over the last seven years rn 4 H She was rnformed at the State Farr that she had won the trxp Mary stayed 1n the Conrad H1lton Hotel. The trxp lasted f1ve days On her first afternoon she went on a sxghtseemg tour over Chzcago Some of the places she vxsrted were the Museum of Sc1ence and Industry Soldlers Fleld Chlnatown all through the downtown dlstrtct and along Lake M1ch1gan Through the week She followed the 4 H program unt11 Saturday and then marched tn the annual Datry Parade on State Street Cmerama Hohday On Sunday Mary represented Indlana by readmg SCFIDIUFES 1n the church servrces at the Conrad Hrlton Hotel Later 1n the day she went to the Amph1theatre to watch datry Judgrng and exhrbxts Mary s trxp was sponsored by the Aysh1re Breeders ASSOCIHIIOH On Thursday September 27 several boys from Coalmont I-hgh School partlcrpated 1n the County Cross Country Meet whrch was held at Brazxl Earl Anthony Senxor won fxrstplaceand brought home the trophy Th1s page sponsored by Mrs Ohve Franc1s Iasonville Irdtana She went to the Rodeo and to the WLS Barn Dance in the evening. On Saturday nigxt she attended the
