Class We assembled for the first time as Freshmen in the Coaldale High School auditorium on the morning of September 8, 1942. ln that beginning year of our High School careers we contributed very slightly to the activity of the school year. ln our Sophomore year we understood more clearly the meaning of AIma Mater, and our school spirit was enkindled. Our participation in school events increased con- siderably. ln our Junior year we played an outstanding part in the numerous events that were listed on the calendar of the l944-45 term. Notably successful, socially and financially, were our Turkey Hop and Prom, ln May of our Junior year we were happy to cele- brate V-E day, and we looked forward to the day when Victory would be complete. At the end of that year, James Polansky and John Trubilla, members of our class, entered the service of our country. The opening day of school of our Senior year, September 4, 'l945, was entirely different from any of our previous opening days of school. War was over. The shadow that had hovered over our first three years in High School was removed. Our Senior year was a pleasant and successful one. The outstanding event was the Senior Class Play, Almost Summer, presented April 24, 1946- As we leave Alma Mater, we take with us cherished memories of our High School days.
