SEN IORS N 00: Class Colors: Blue and Gold Class Flower: Yellow Tea Rose Class Motto: Not for Self, for Country. 00: A Class History On a bright September day in the year 1941, a cheerful, sportive group entered Coal' dale High School as Freshmen. Several Weeks passed before We became accustomed to the routine of the school. Seemingly we were little noticed except for the week of Whimsical initiations. After a summer which was enjoyed by all, We returned in the fall to commence with eager enthusiasm as Sophomores. During this year, our first financial achievement, The Turkey Hop, Was unsurpassed. As Juniors the tribulations of World War II struck our school. Undauntedly We supplemented the social season with our Prom In the fall of 1943 we began, as Seniors, the last unforgettable year of school together. Our boys were on the Hall out for sports. On December 8, 1943 the Senior Class Play, Don't Take My Penny, marked a new height in dramatic attainment. As we approached graduation, we found that many of our classmates had left us to join in the fight for Freedom The class of 1944 is indeed proud of these boys. As never before, the class of '44 really has something to be thankful for-the education so very much needed to bring about peace once more. Equipped with the confidence, hope and good will that we have acquired here in school, and with a little good luck, we ought to make our Alma Mater beam with pride at our success.
