The Students, Cooperative Association Organized in the fall of the l934-35 school term, the Students' Cooperative Association did not begin to carry out its broad program of activity until the present school year. Led by officers who had been elected as follows: Presi- dent, Theodore Berger, Vice-President, Adele Korsakg Secretary, Stella Smarigay Treasurer, Anna Evans, the association proved the real value of a student- governing body. Its first step was to Welcome the Freshmen at the start of the year, and conduct a Get-Acquaintedu party tor them. Other accomplishments were the sponsoring of the football booster program, the conducting of sales at varsity athletic contests, the selecting of a list of assembly programs for the year, the settling of numerous problems brought to its meetings by various home rooms, and the completing of a merit and demerit system. With a firmly established organization assured, as a result of the first year's splendid progress, the Students' Cooperative Association is expected to be the leading means of improving Coaldale High School through education of its student members in proper cooperation for school betterment. A gradual in- crease of responsibility is designed to fit each student for citizenship upon graduation. Y'!1i1'fllCfm'.' XV. l':1rIitt, R,jo1ics, l'. jr-lirics, ID. llulzuisky, ll. l':u'iltt. li.
