Q! I lenlor age Twenty Five C LASS QFFICE QS August Dastucim Cfjh'x'.wiJc'Ill Senior Class History On the first day of September, in the year 1930, a merry, laughing group of eighty Freshmen , entered the calm, invit- ing interior of Coaldale High School. The most notable innoraf on in our freshman year was the organ 'zation of a high school band by none other than one who knows his horns, Prof. John J. Horn. We freshmen were so enthused, that all of as who were musically inclined, joined, even if only to blow a fife. Thus, we passed our first term in high school. During our second year, trees were planted on Phillip Street by students of the high school. We, the class of 1934, planted two sections, namely, the North side of East Phillip Street between Second and Third Streets. Before we realized it, June had come, Iijringing to a close our happy Sophomore ear. Andnew Qajnic Fit-vrelury J ohm Korsah as! VUUSH l Q I When we had earned the meritorious title of Juniors, it became our lot to choose citliofr the Commercial or Academic Courses of training. We chose with the hope tha! this choice would lead as to bigger and better things. During these years of educational pursuit, athletics, oratory, gymnastics and art were by no means overlooked. The class of 1934 has contributed several outstanding varsity football and basketball stars as well as some praiseworthy track stars. While still juniors a member of our class brought Laurels to the school by her fine gift oy oratory, capturing the county championships and taking third place in the state con- test. The artists of our class won prizes in the county art contests. September 3, 1933, we sixty-five Dignified Seniors, took the places recently 'ua- cated by the graduates of 1933. On January the 22nd, the Senior Class Play, Funny Phinnie, was presented for the enjoyment of the public. By hook or by crook, we made the grade, and began looking forwwrd to- graduation. Thus, the curtain rings down upon our happy, never-to-be forgotten high school days, -' - - ' -' - - - -We look to the future. , ,.,, I, . ., .. i ,. ,.., . ,M :I , Q, ,.wN,w,,,,V '.,,
