For the record . . . This is Coahoma junior College. BENEATH THE SPACIOUS SKIES IN THE NORTHERN AREA OF THE Mississippi Delta lies a citadel of learning - Coahon' junior College. Historically, alumni perceive Coahoma as an 'oasis of education - academic, vocational, and technical pursuits - wit accessibility to a myriad of cultural and social exposure. In 1949, through an act of the state legislature, Coahomajunior College was established on the campus with the high school, an became one institution. The institution is governed by a single Board of Trustees. The president of the junior College is also tt Superintendent of the high school. This act by the legislature established a Special School District separating it from the count unit. There has been a continuous, rapid growth in the college from an enrollment of twenty-one t2lj to approximately tu thousand, . . . from a faculty of fourteen 1141 to approximately one hundred Q100jg . . . from frame buildings to modern structurt and facilities from the predominate teacher-education curriculum to a multi-curriculum offerings and terminal vocation. programs, pre-professional and technical programs. The institution has utilized many federal programs to help meet the needs of our students and the school community.
