This year's edition of the Coahoman is somewhat unique, in that it is the first Flip Flop book produced at Coahoma Junior College. It is our hope that you will enjoy this edition. We have at- tempted to capture in pictures and words some of the events that may have made the year special for the CJ C family, alumni, and friends. As I reflect on my sophomore year as editor of the Coahoman, I take time out to give recogni- tion to some very special individuals. The professional photography of Mr. Timothy Burrel, the magnificent artwork of Mr. Henry Dorsey, and the kindnesses of Mr. Albert Williams and Mr. Jerry Salley aided in making this publication a reality. A very big THANKS to the hard-working staff members who have been enthusiastic and most of all, fun. My sincere thanks also go to our president, Dr. McKinley C. Martin, for his understanding and moral support - a much needed asset in the production of this yearbook. A very special thanks to our advisor, Miss Hattie Jenkins, who demands perfection from her staff, for her guidance and leadership in producing the 1984 Coahoman. As I bid you farewell, I wish that the years to come at CJC are as meaningful to you as they were to me. I will never forget the good times. To my capable successors on the Coahoman staff, I extend my best wishes and encourage you to uphold the outstanding reputation of the COAHOMAN. I hope you enjoy perusing the Coahoman as much as I enjoyed editing it. LQWLQQJ Ummm! WMM! Closing The Torch of Excellence The Coahoman staff, through its theme - The Torch of Excellence - has presented in evidence, highlights of the 1983-84 school year that include a progressive ad- ministration, whose leadership and guidance have thrusted Coahoma into a technological era and an auspicious building programg and a faculty and support staff who helped fuel the Torch with intellect and expertise. The Coahoman also capsuled an enthusiastic student body whose accomplishments have led to awards, honors and recognition. Also featured in this edition was a dedicated and suppor- tive alumni. Their sense of responsibility and accountabili- ty have made them responsive and loyal to their Alma Mater. AND NOW we close the 1984 volume of the Coahoman with confidence that the Torch of Excellence will con- tinue to be passed as Coahoma Junior College pursues its leadership role in education. book, butthis isinot . . yOU--cClDnft.sk11i5W3fl3Hi6Y?E are or how to get to the other-.sides TQ WOW-s 8 so -s rr 1 T -eii as l . srrf r i'l..
