He is a graduate of Aggie Highg a member of the first Aggie High Bandg a member of the first college classg J a former teacher and one of three members of the C.J.C, Alumni Association to become an Administrator of his Alma Mater. Our honoree is involved in many important services at C.l.C. 'S 1 EVEN THE TIGERS MAKE NEWS Fields Sparks Victory , Tigers Win Fourth Straight l l Coming from 20 points down, l the Aggie High Tigers put down the Amanda Elzy High Panthers of Greenwood 28-20 last night to run their unbeaten string to four straight. Sammy Fields sparked the effort with three touchdowns . With the Panthers taking the opening kickoff and getting all of their points in the first half, Field scored his first TD from five yards out to get the Tigers moving. He went in for the two- point conversion to make the score 20-8 at halftime. In the third quarter, quar- terback Joe Oliver pitched out to Joe Williams, who carried the mail in from the nine. The PAT attempt failed and the score read 20-14. It stayed that way through the third period. The Tigers scored in the fourth, with Fields capping a 165-yard drive by going over from the five for the Tigers' third touchdown. Fields carried the pigskin over for two points to put the Tigers in the lead at 22-20. Following a screen pass to Fields that carried to the one- yard line, Oliver again called on Fields for the score. The! PAT attempt again failed to end all scoring in the game. The defensive effort by the Tigers was led by Waddell Pryor and McArthur Hampton- with six tackles, while Sam .Wal-ker, James Houston and J. B. Smith each had five. In addition to his three touch- downs, Fields also had 118 yards in 18 carries to spark the offensive effort. Oliver hit 6 of 12 passes for 87 yards and got 20 yards on the ground. The effort gave Fields a total of six touchdowns and 497 yards on the ground this season. Next week the Tigers play Saints High School of Lexington for their Homecoming contest. Fifth Victory Gentry Bows 26-6 l l l l l , Aggie Ends Winning Season 1 , Closing out their season last tnight, the Aggie High Tigers put ldown Gentry High of Indianola 26-6 for their seventh victory against a lone loss, using a strong second half. Each team spent the first two quarters of play , fumbling, losing the ball and slipping all over the field. Each team was unable to get on the scoreboard in the half. Sammy Fields went tociwork Aggie High Ramps Again The Aggie High Tigers celebrated homecoming here last night by slapping Saints High of Lexington 64-6 to run their unbeaten string to five this season. Larry Paschal opened the game with an 82-yard run on the first play for the first touch- down, with Sammy Fields scoring from the one and quarterback Joe Oliver hitting L. B. Jackson from 13 yards out for two other touchdowns in the first quarter for the Tigers. In the second quarter, Oliver hit Fields for the Tigers' fourth touchdown to make the score 30-0 at the half. Fields continued to torment, his opponents in the second half. He scored from the one to get things started in the third and later ran for 57 yards and his fourth touchdown. Fields caught a 12-yard pass from Oliver for his fifth TD and was called on again from the one for his sixth score. Lexington got its only touchdown on a pass in- terception. Fields picked up 197 yards in 14 carries to spark the Tiger offense, with Pascah getting 148 yards in nine carries. Defensive leaders were McArthur Hamp- ton, with six tackles and one pass interception, and Alphonso Hamp and Roosevelt Williams. with four tackles and one in- terception each.
