Principal? Messa e If il 1 F4 . ll ll !,fK',1 xxx X ' ' s xx xx X Once again it is my privilege to commend you on this splendid publication. You have attempted to depict many of the unique achievements, individually and collec- tively, by various members of your school. This greatness which you laud could not have been possible unless a definite plan of action was vigorously pursued. Moreover, I am sure that each step of the way there were those who were there to say you were wrong. That there were many difficulties arising which tempted you to believe your critics. But because these efforts were founded upon the principles of purposeful activity, like true champions, you possessed the indomitable traits necessary to win these rewards. Again, may I offer my hearty congratulations and wish for you, and the Champions who are no longer on the immediate scene, continued success in your pursuit of excel- lence. W. L. Tobias, Sr.

Academic Director - Par Excellence DEAN MARY G. WHITESIDE A wry I M Dr. I-I. H. Hartshorne of The Southern Association Accrediting Com- mission discusses his evaluation of The Coahoma Program with Dean Mary G. Whiteside. Deanas Statement Since the organization of Coahoma Junior College and Agricultural High School the institution has been striving in its pursuit of excellence to relate the program to the school's objectives. These objectives, among other things, seek to help youth and adults solve problems in the areas of human need. By guiding students as they experience and live from day to day in the classrooms and on the campus they can develop themselves more fully. The faculty of the college believes that the objectives of the school can only be fully attained when they excel in teaching and in scholarship. To that end they spend many hours working on self-improvement, evaluations of the program of studies, the improvement of instruction, and the growth and de- velopment of students. ln a College of Champions the faculty and students alike demand of themselves the highest achievement of which they are capable. Mary G. Whiteside
