The school is locaTed Tour miles norTh oT The CiTy oT Clarksdale, The counTy siTe, on The Friars PoinT-Clarksdale Highway. lT is in The geographical cenTer oT The counTy surrounded on all sides by planTaTions, Thickly populaTed wiTh our Tarmers. The loca- Tion is ideal, very producTive and seldom muddy. The school sysTem has been approved by The STaTe DeparTmenT oT EducaTion, Jackson, Mississippi, and The Federal Board oT VocaTional EducaTion, WashingTon, D. C., and is The pride oT every colored ciTizen in Coahoma CounTy. The school opened iTs doors wiTh A. M. STrange as The TirsT principal. ln I927, under The Principalship oT J. H. Moseley, The school progressed rapidly. During The adminisTraTion oT Principal J. W. Addison The school Tor The TirsT Time gave Teachers an opporTuniTy, Through The Summer CrediT School, To earn crediTs Towards high school graduaTion. The insTrucTion was oT The highesT order and many were richly rewarded Tor Their TaiThTul sTudy. lT was during This, The adminisTraTion oT SuperinTendenT J. B. WrighT, ThaT The Coahoma CounTy AgriculTural High School reached iTs peak and was given iTs ac- crediTmenT along wiTh The Tew oTher accrediTed high schools oT The sTaTe. A well planned 'program was ouTlined and a band compleTe wiTh uniTorm and equipmenT was organized. The school was Tar-reaching and moved To greaT heighTs oT deTer- minaTion To keep pace wiTh The ever-advancing sTandards oT excellence. ln I946 wiTh SuperinTendenT B. F.
