The school is very proud of the band's many accomplish- ments, and this year for the first time, The John Phillip Sousa award will be given to the outstanding senior who has shown the most improvement during the past years. At the many affairs in which the band has participated: such as the Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, and Music Festival, they have received wide acclaim for their splendid perform- anoes. Under the leadership of Mr. Gerald DeLis1e, and the band of5cers,L. Anstee, Rresi- dent, A. Robertson, Secretary- Treasurerg and P. Kelley, Li- brarian, the band has grown into an excellent group of musicians. 42

One of these projects was a carnival sponsored to raise money for recognition pins, to be given to students for their outstanding work in various organ- izations such as the school paper and yearbook. Another new idea is the handbook which will contain general information on the faculty and student body. Our council, this year, as in the past, has done an outstanding job in maintaining the good standing and reputation of our school, and we are very proud of them. 44
