The American Association of Unlverslty Women QAAUWJ sponsors the AAUW girls. Each year, the faculty and administration chooses eighteen girls who possess outstanding scholastic ability, leadership qualities, and an outstanding person- ality. The AAUW sponsors this program to en- courage higher education of senior high school graduates. The two girls chosen as AAUW girl of the month had to perform several duties. Being chosen AAUW girls of the month, the student had to promise that she had no plans for marriage for a year. She had to take a picture of herself, accom- panied by a list of activities, to the Clovis News Journal. She also had to attend monthly AAUW meeting with her mother. AAUW girls: 1. The Rotary Club sponsors the Student Rotarians. The Student Rotarians are 18 Seniors chosen by the faculty, whose decision is based on scholas- tic ability, leadership qualities, and the student's personality. Each month 2 Senior boys attend the noon Ro- tary luncheon. These meetings are held at the La Villa Steak House where the boys eat with and are introduced to the Club members.
