SUPERINTENDENT MEMCRIES Memories is a beautiful and sentimental word. Memories, in the best definition of the term, means appreciation for the past and a guide to the future. Memories pro- vide a driving force for doing good and for making further progress. Soon, three hundred members of our student body will become alumni of Clovis Union High School. Soon their presence here will be but a memory, and their places will be filled by new students on their way up the ladder in their quest for learning. But memory, that blessed attribute of human nature, will keep fresh in our minds the work and life of this brilliant group. We will thrill again when our teams take the football field with the memory of our first championship in many years and the part the Class of 1957 played in it. We will remember with pleasure many of the activities sponsored by this fine group of young people. We will recall with pleasure, and perhaps some pride, our associations with the members of this class, and we will live richer and better lives because of these memories. These sentiments will also dominate the thinking of many seniors as they pass through the halls for their last time as members of the school. As they assume their various stations along life's highway, they will likewise discover the value of memo- ries. They will recall with increasing pleasure their many associations and activities while members of the Clovis Union High School Student Body. They will discover how important these four years have been, they will profit by their experiences and go on to greater things. Be the road rough or smooth, uphill or downhill, remember we are all pulling for your success. We will believe that your success here and your ever-present memories of your school will be incentive enough to drive you over each obstacle and further on to happy, worthwhile living.
