VICE-PRINCIPAL PROGRESS usually results from making success out of our failures and by not being satisfied with, or affected by, that success. Since we cannot stand still, let us strive to progress each day -the graduating seniors, in going on to their life pursuits lcollege careers, service, or occupationsl, and the un- derclassmen in continuing with their respective classes to the day when their high school careers will be successfully completed. -Mr. Clark. MR. LELAND CLARK, Vice-Principal IT WAS Victor Hugo who said, Would you realize what progress is, call it Tomorrow-. A toast then to Tomorrow-the Tomorrow of fine classrooms and well-equipped gymns-the Tomorrow of 'growth in the knowledge and skill to be learned in those rooms and toward under- standing the beautiful mystery of the universe.-Mrs. Gaines. Your theme of Progress is, I believe, extremely appropriate for this Cavalcade. No other word has greater connotation than progress when referring to the past four years of your life at Clovis Union High School. The progress of your school has been little short of mirac- ulous in many ways. You have seen a remarkable growth in your student body and in the physical plant. You have all been a part of that growth, and you have played your parts well. Con- gratulations and good luck to each of you.-Mr. Kastner. DIRECTOR OF GUIDANCE AND DEAN OF GIRLS MR. GEORGE KASTNER, Director of Guidance ' MRS. MARION GAINES, Dean of Girls

BOARD OF TRUSTEES GEORGE HOLLESEN DELBERT SMITH EINAR COOK J. E. B ETZ Vice President CHARLES PREUSS President Clerk The trustees are responsible for the actual operation of the school, and their duties are many. They set the standards for gradua- tion. They outline the financial program for the school, prepare the budget, and direct disbursements. We do not have space here to list all their important accomplishments of the past few years, but among them are six new tennis courts, a fine gymnasium, and twenty modern class rooms. They have given Clovis High School the best that they could have given it and the Seniors of l955 express the appreciation of the entire school for their splendid efforts.
