CHARLES GOWER, B.S., California State College World History, American History An understanding of the history of civiliza- tion is especially important in these times of con- flict between growing industrial nations. As we go about attempting to solve these problems, it is vi- tal that we understand each other, as well as our- selves. Through the study of World History and American History, students are prepared to parti- cipate in a civilization which has had many grow- ing pains. They witness victory and defeat. They view heroes and traitors. They explore the minds of men who have either created or destroyed social structures. As a result, students are better able to cope with the trials of everyday life. ie A neta = Pea Vaan

MR. CALVIN MC COY, B.A.,B.S.E., Ohio State University Civics, Law Civics Inspires Participation in Government Assuming that an understanding of American government is essential to all Americans, all seniors are required to include civics in their courses of study. Although emphasis is placed on the basic principles of the American system of government, recent and pos- sible future developments at local, national, and in- ternational levels are also included to stress the im- portance of our government in an ever-changing world. With this knowledge and understanding, we, as the citizens of the United States, can make our government a government of the people, by the peo- ple, and for the people. MR. THOMAS MYERS, B.S.E., Kent State University Civics, World History
