3 IOR fb i 1 i' -4' JIIVI SWEENEY JOHN RICHARDS nt e P e LOIS CAMERON Nome TEETERS BEN sAULs JoHN ADKINC a Pr g am Cha rm g ant Ihe elass of 1954 eyer since the seventh grade has shown their upper elassmen that they had the enthusiasm and ability to become one of Closer Park s outstanding c11sses Under the lemdership of 'Vlike Jarvis and Booth Gardner sex enth and eighth grade presidents respeetiyely they went full force into class activities Io start their social life off with a bang they eleeted Janice Buehler in 1949 and the following year Dacia Custer to represent their class in the K1ahowy1 eourt By the ninth grade the class was gaining eyen more spirit and pep It w us proying what an ambitious and 'actiye class they were Again under the eapable hands ol Booth Cnrdner this c11ss worked smoothly and efficiently for a yery suceessful year lor one of the biggest eyents ot the yemr the Ixlahowya dance they elected Rita Darling at their attendant to the queen Dick Phenneger w ms eleeted Iunior High Rep outstanding girl and boy of the ninth grade class Vylith Bob Vylinn holding the reins for their first year in the Senior Htgh they showed more enthu siasm and spirit in all their activities throughout the year 1 sports they showed to be re11 sportsmen as the sophomore basketball temm won the city championship with 16 wins md 2 losses geime outstanding athletes were Don Hare Ken Peters Don Price George Dixon Don Hearon and Blaine Smith Representing the class in looks and personality were PatPit1er Klahowya attendant lorene Nliller Homeeoming attendant and Dale Hruby Duke of the Cnrls Club Tolo Sentimental Journey was the theme of the annual Sophomore Farewell Dance Que Rtchey and Ben Smls were the co ehnrmen for the affair I he music was provided by larry Carino Highlighting their junior year was the tradition il Junior Prom Inaugural Ball 'I his long remem bered dance was planned by Ritchie Baird and Don VN ashburn the co ehairmen of the affair The pleas ant musie was furnished by Bob Dickinson and his band I dna Wiley was elected by the Juniors as the 1953 Klahowya attendant as was Gayle Switzer for Homecoming attendant 51 he Hi 1 crowned Put Pitler as Miss Pepsi of 1953 at their dance The Pepsi Bounce md the girls of the cl1ss elected Ben Sauls as Tolo Prince for the Girls Club Tolo Nancy Richards was crowned ueen Nancy I at the 1953 Klahowya dance She was 1ttended by Arlene Jackson and P ggy Hay maids of honor Wynne Steel and Kay Kneip were co chairmen of this very successful dance Shirley Haugen was elected by the Senior class to be Homecoming ueen Not to be forgotten was the Seior B111 held December 5 in the Cnrls gym 'Ihe co chiirmen of the dance were Nancv Richards and Bob Winn John Stillbrink s band proyideel the music J he decorations were a typical winter scene I Q , .
