C LOVER 0, WELFORD-LYMAN-STARTEX 6 The Clover Blue Eagles lost their first football game in a hard fought con- test at W. L.S. by the close score of 6-0. The first half was scoreless with the ball changing hands many times. During the third quarter, a costly fumble by Clover gave W. L,S. the only touchdown of the game. CLOVER 6, FORTMILL Z6 Clover was hit by an epidemic of fumblitis when the Jellow Jackets from Fort Mill took advantage of the breaks to defeat the Blue Eagles by a score of Z6-6. Billy Wallace scored the Blue Eagles' only touchdown from the four yard line as a climax to a sustained drive which was spearheaded by Bob Whitener and Red Greene. CLOVER 14, LEXINGTON 33 The experienced Lexington Wildcats scored three quick touchdowns in the first half and coasted to a 33-14 win over an improved squad of Blue Eagles. Jim Bowman and Red Greene packed Clover's scoring punch as each scored touchdowns on long runs. C717 CLOVER 6, PELZER-WILLIAMSTON 7 The call'-back of a touchdown by Homer Newton in the last few minutes of the game robbed the Blue Eagles of their first win of the season, Bob Whitener put Clover in the lead at the first of the game by a score of 6-0, but Pelzer-Williamston came back with a touchdown and the extra point to give themselves a 7-6 victory. fa! 4 CLOVER 19 WINTHROP TRAINING SCHOOL 7 The Clover Blue Eagles took their first win of the season as they ploughed to a I9-7 win over W.T.S. of Rock Hill. Bob Whitener lead the Eagles to their initial win of the season as he scored two touchdowns, one on a pass from Billy Wallace and the other on a smash over center. Red Greene plunged over center for the other Clover T.D,, BILLY WALLACE, Captain CLOVER 0, KERSHAW Z7 The South Carolina Championship Kershaw Purple Eagles proved too much for a fighting Clover eleven as they pound- ed out a ZT-0 victory. The final score does not indicate the much improved defensive playing of the Clover Blue Eagles. CLOVER 7, WINNSBORO 14 Winrisboro scored a touchdown in the last quarter to break a 7-7 deadlock and to hand the Blue Eagles from Clover their sixth loss of the season. Red Greene went 56 yards at the beginning of the second half to score Slover's lone touchdown and Bob White- .ier converted to tie the score at 7-7. CLOVER l9, GREAT FALLS I4 The Clover Blue Eagles showed their fighting spirit as they came from behind twice to win this exciting ballgame and spoiled Great l all's Homecoming.
