Assembies The above picture is that of the Charles E. King, the baritone soloist who held his high school audience spellbound with his magietic personality and his magnificent song leadership. He has appeared in Dramatic1singing roles in Show Boat, Green Pastures, and Porgy and Bess. He has given recitals in most major cities, including New York, Boston, Chicago and Hollywood. Every- one will remember this assembly! Maybe you 've seen puppet shows before, but you 've never seen anything like Erica Melchois' Skillful manipulation of her giant-sized marionettes - some 3 feet tall. She puts her marion- ettes through their paces on a full size stage. They dance, they sing, they skate, they juggle, they cavort on the trapeze, they do the most amazing things. Otto and Donna Lea Schmidt are two remarkable young people who are living proof of the suc- cessful credo, A healthy body makes an alert mind and clean spirit. This was the most exciting health education program ever offered to our school and it taught the lesson of right living as well as thrill with daring feats of balances, lifts, jumps, etc. Mr. Edwin N. Cooper whose entire professional career has been spent in the field of physical science. His talks concerned radio and radarg jet propulsion and atomic energyg solar energy and illumination. De Yep Loo has one of the finest personal collection of Chinese Costumes imaginable. Many of them are invaluable and came to this country with his family. They range from ragged Coolies to majestic Imperial Dragon Robes.
