55595 .W GIRLS SGFTBALL Yeeer out! called the quiet and withdrawn Umpire. Out? Who paid you to Ump, Regina High School? What kind of game is this? What a racket! How can l be out? That ball was 6 inches below my knees! Number 15 was pleading with the Umpire, having little success. The 1973-74 Girls Soft- ball team was off to a flying start! The '74' team finished it's second season in the Bi-County league in fourth place, much better than it's '73' season--- 1 game won out of 10 played! The '74' record was 7 out of 14, a tremendous improvement over the last place team of '73'... The team combined its improved skills in batting, fielding and base running to account for it's higher standup in the league. Outstanding pitching by lVlette lVlorck C'74' most valuable- player and member of the All Bi-County team? as well as com- mendable hitting and fielding by Lori Connell, Kathy Cieslak, Carol Becker, and Melinda Everett contributed to Clintondale's reputation as tough competition in the '74' season.
