MRS. BETTY PATE MR. WILLIE H. MORTON Mrs. Pate graduated from A. S. T. C. in 1954 where she received her B. S. E. in Home Economics. Mrs. Pate is presently teaching Home Economics I, II, and HI. She is also sponsor of the FHA and co- sponsor of the sophomore class. Mr. Morton is a graduate of the University of Arkansas where he received his M. Ed. degree in 1954. He is Instructor of Agriculture I, II, and HI. Mr. Morton is also sponsor of the FFA and i co- ponsor of the junior cla8i MR. GENE HORTON Coach Horton received his B. S. E. drgree from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1953. Besides being coach in basketball and asst, coach in foot- ball, he teaches a health class. He is also co-sponsor of the senior class. MRS. KATHRYN HORTON Mr8. Horton attended A. S. T. C. from September, 1951 through May, 1953. She teaches typing I, book- keeping, shorthand I and n, and is Library Custodian. MR. SHIRRELL HAL BROOK MR. CURTISS BARNES, PRINCIPAL Mr. Halbrook received his B. S. E. from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1950 and obtained his M. Ed. de- gree from the University of Arkansas in 1954. He is Superintendent of the Clinton School System. Mr. Barnes received his B. S. E. degree from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1946. He is now teaching American literature, journalism, and general science. Mr. Barnes is Torch sponsor and sponsor of the Beta Club. MRS. GEORGE MATHIS Mrs. Mathis has attended Arkansas State Teachers College three years where she is working on her B. S. E. degree. She is teaching American literature and is Asst. Library Cus- todian. Mrs. Mathis is also co- sponsor of the junior class. MR. JOHN GRIFFITH Mr. Griffith received his B. A. degree in 1929 and M. A. degree in 1931 from Texas Christian University. After he graduated from there, he taught Greek, Hebrew, and math there. He is now teaching algebra I, chemistry, biology, geometry, and general science. He is co-sponsor of the sophomore class. MR. HOMER JONES’ MR. RALPH HUTTO Mr. Jones received his B. S. E. degree from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1951. He also attended Harding College. He is now teaching civics, world history, and American history. Mr. Jones is co-sponsor of the freshman class. Mr. Hutto has attended A. S. T. C., Missis- sippi State College, and Draughon's School of Business. He teaches typing I, n. and busi- ness math, and is a P. E. instructor. Mr. Hutto is also co-sponsor of the freshman class MR. DOLAN MATTHEWS Mr. Matthews graduated from Adkins High School and has attended college at Arkansas A. M., Arkansas State at Jonesboro, and the University of Arkansas. He directed the band and glee club at Hendrix College in 1925 Mr. Matthews is now directing the Clinton School Band and Glee Club. MRS. BARBARA FINCHER Mrs. Fincher graduated from Clinton State Vocational Training School in 1953. She is now employed as school secretary. Page 9
