Our first year was spent in studying and trying to adjust to the life that normal High School students lead. We started the year off by electing Jack Fin- ton as President and Mrs. Alberta Sellers as Sponsor. Our major events that first year consisted of F.F.A. initiations, a trip to the State Fair and the pres- entation of three one-act plays. The fall of 1952 found us returning as Sophomores and again taking part in school life. Jack Finton was re-eleced as Class President and Elba Gordon as Sponsor. This year was filled with several activities—first, we presented a three-act play entitled Hillbilly Wedding ; then Jack Finton represented the school and class by being on the State Championship Basketball Squad; Sam Rhoades, Jack Finton and Dickie Turpen were delegates to the District F. F. A. Meeting at Russellville and Bob James and Wayne Kay attented the State F. F. A. Convention at Little Rock. The highlight of the year was the class trip to Petit Jean Mountain. In September, 1953 we enrolled at C.S.V.T.S. carrying the title of Juniors. With this came some real work. Starting off, we elected Sam Rhoades as President and Mrs. Abe Berkowitz as Sponsor. We chose Carolyn McEntire as our candidate for Fair Queen and with the support of her class, she was elec- ted. Carolyn Moss and Jo Ann Finton were elected Homecoming Maids. Our Junior Play, No More Homework was one of our most successful achievements during the year. For our class trip, we decided to go to Lake Nixon and tour Little Rock. Being Juniors, it was our privilege to sponsor the Annual Banquet honoring the Seniors. We used the Garden of Memories theme and a formal dance followed the dinner. One of the most exciting days of the year came the day we selected our class rings. Entering in September, 1954, 34 sophisticated Seniors were greeted with the news that our class rings had arrived. Time came again to elect a Fair Queen—this time Carolyn Moss. She was also chosen as Miss Van Buren County. Sam Rhoades was again elected Class President and Mrs Abe Berk- owitz and Mrs Ruel Neeley served as Co-Sponsors. Homecoming Maids from our class were Carolyn Moss and Rosetta Page. This year we had more respon- sibilities than in our previous High School years because we had to publish the yearbook and order invitations and caps and gowns. The Senior Play, It's a Great Life, was presented March 24, and the girls were entertained April 18 with a Career Day Dinner, sponsored by the Clinton B. and P. W. Club. The event of events rolled around April 13 when we left on our class trip to Rock City and Nashville, Tennessee. Just to think of Commencement on May 9 makes us feel grown up, but really we are just starting on the long journey of life. BOOSTERS Betty Sue Lankford Mr. and Mrs. H.
