Student Council Kenneth Still President Our Student Council began in the latter part of the previous school term with the election of the president, vice-president, and secretary-treasurer from the present Senior, Junior, and Sophomore classes. Soon after the opening day for the 52-53 session, we broke up the secretary-treasurer office and elected a treasurer Irom the Freshman class. Our current undertakings, through the assistance ol Mrs. Berkowitz and other teachers, are studying the proposed constitution and the working out of a dietical experiment on some white rats in co-oper- ation with the State Public Health Program. On entering the tourney, held at the University of Arkansas Field House in Fayetteville the Yellow Jackets were little thought of as the winning team. The Jackets won four games, counting 21(i points, while the opposition scored 199. In the order of defeat were: Forrest City, 59-56; Warren, 56-50; Sparkman, 53-47; Monti- ccllo, 48-46. Forrest City was the first victim. Although using a fast break, it wasn't fast enough to stop the deadly fire of Avey from under the backboard and Whillock on the outside, Avey scoring 30 points. Warren came and went in style but nearly took the Jackets from the list of undefeated. With a strong 12 point leatl at the half, the game looked like it was about over. Then with Whillock and Bradford out of the game Warren came easing back but were stopped short.
