Viva Mexico? Prairie's marching band leads the way for Santa. Christmas wasn't the only vacation many CP students had this winter. An epidemic of what was called HHong Kong V Flun caused as many as 150 absences several days before Christmas. The so called 'epidemicn caused the cancellation of many Christmas activities including the Christmas Concert and the Christmas Dance. Basketball, commonly known in Indiana as uHoosier Hysteria,u played an important part in the winter activities. The Gophers played an improved season beat- ing Thorntown, Westfield and Carroll. This year's pep club was the biggest and most spir- ited in CP history. The Varsity Pep Band and Prairiettes also did their best to increase the spirit and excitement at this year's home ballgames.
