Micro film, and reference books are among the additions to the facilities of the school library. The librarian, Mrs. Hurt, offers synopses of new books given in the classroom, a ser- vice begun this year. Students use the library extensively for study and for pleasure . Students are given the opportunity for self-expression by means of art through oil painting, stain glass work, copper enameling, hand crafts sketchings, and many others. Much latent student talent has been re- vealed. Sh-h-h-h-h-h Move over Michealangelo, We're just birds in a gilded cage. A variety of activities occupies the time of the one hundred and ten mem- ber high school band. High placing at solo and ensemble contest and a first place rating at this year's band contest showed the results of every- day rehearsals . The band performs for home football games and partici- pates in local parades. The members of the chorus are ex- posed to many levels of vocal music ranging from popular to classical. They also practice breathing and e- nunciation techniques to improve the quality of the music produced. Om! Pah! Pah! -

Many phases of homemaking are available to girls in grades seven through twelve. The backbone of these courses is consumer buying, which branches into clothing, interior decorating, and foods. Crops, livestock, soil, and equip- ment are the significant components of farming. New methods are intro- duced in the classroom that can be applied directly to actual farming. Basic accounting principles and procedures are essential for man- aging a productive farm. Pun! Putt! Blughli It won't burp, Mrs. Brown!
