Within the grasp of each student here lies a wealth of knowledge and opportunity. It is his to unfold. The possibilities are limitless to anyone who will make use of his advantages, and the action within these walls insures the continuation of this process of self-improvement This is our fifth year as one consolidated school, and we are progressing forward with increasing tempo. Thetime has passed so rapidly, yet so much has been accomplished. We have molded one distinct school from four. We have widened the scope of our world. The wheels have been set into motion, and even now we con- tinue forward. We look ahead to unfinished tasks not with apprehension, but with con- fidence in the force that solidifies and directs our action. The shape of our action shall determine what is to come. It has made the past successful, and will continue to strengthen the foundation for the future. 2 1 TABLE OF CONTENTS Academics and Activities . . . . . . . . . Athletics . . . She has traveled into each of the fifty United States at least five times, and has visited twenty-four foreign nations in five continents. Enjoying travelby plane, she plans to continue adding to her vast travel experience. MRS. HELEN GRICE Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, Mrs. Helen Grice has been teaching for twenty-six years. She has taught in a mission school in the Tennesee foothills, has served as a governess of thirty children in Ohio, and for five years was a County Attendance Officer. Her husband, Mr. Henry Grice, is presently Superinten- dent of Schools in Edgar County, Ohio. They have one son and three grandchildren. MR. RUSSELL BRYAN Mr. Russell J. Bryan has taught agriculture, shop, and social studies for forty-two years, twenty-five of which have been spent at Mulberry and Clinton Prairie. Most students know him as a government teacher, though he has sponsored several class trips to Washington D.C. and New York while at Mulberry. Mr. Bryan's avocation is farming, and he has received a B.S. in agriculture from Purdue University. Pulling herself together takes a little outside assistance from Dad before the half time show at Indiana Central College. The Marching Gophers performed as the guest high school band, and Connie was anxious to look her best. All right, Mr. Whaley, how does colored ligh effect growing plants? Clinton Prairie's first Science Fair raised many such questions, and earnest exhibitors sought to answer them. Now, Mr. Alward, you wouldn't tell Mr. Egli if I took just one more, would you? The kitchen is a favorite haunt of Prairie's faculty. t L w -gg M ...i 5 5 i Between classes, hall lockers are our meeting grounds for chats, planning, and serious discussion. 6 Lending a hand, Mrs. Sims shows Mrs. Hurt and Mrs. Long how to run the machine. Square dancing was introduced to the mixed physical education classes this year Here, Mrs. Bose: explains the footwork. Academics and Activities L: 4 -QQSV SK41 iii, D ' R! 1 ri' Q s HTF? i cn, -s , , 6 1 i '-it Pla- The shape of action is the formation of a single wing on the gridiron, the silhouette of dancers at the prom, the strut of a band on the march, the leap of a basketball player for a lay-up, the shadow of a student bent over homework. Action is also within each student's mind, and here it has no shape. It is the curiosity aroused by a Science Fair, the concentration applied in music practice, the determination set toward a cross- country run, the anticipation felt during a close game. In the end, the shape of action is the shape of our student body and faculty as we work together throughout the school year. 7 E. H.
