Mt View if MVS Nh. Principal lVlr. Carlos Clayton Mr. Clayton came to our school this year after being principal at Nimitz Junior High for six years. He's been a principal for a total of nine years and been in educa- tion for twenty-eight years. He is married, has three daughters and one son. We feel fortunate for his experience and guidance at Clinton. Assistant Principal Mr. Derwin Blankenship Mr. Blankenship has been in education for twenty-five years. Before he came to Clinton twelve years ago, he was a football, baseball and basketball coach in several Oklahoma towns. He is married and has three daughters. Many young men of this community respect him for his concern, for their future, for his moral example and his patience.

In Memory Miss Claire Nowatzki Z S f' I :xx Q ' V gi, 4648? '35 9+ X , Although the student body cannot remember her because she retired from Clinton in 1965 after forty-six years of teaching, it is fitting for us to honor Miss Claire Nowatzki on this our fiftieth anniversary. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington. In 1918, she began her teaching career at Iron River, Michigan, Miss Nowatzki came here in 1927, only two years after Clinton had been built. During her years here, she taught everything from social studies, journalism, drama, music, and art to drafting. She was adviser to the school newspaper, and in 1938 organized an accordion band, She was also one of two persons to organize the state-wide Junior High Student Council. For over twenty-five years she was sponsor of Clinton's Student Council, She is described, by those who knew her best, as an accomplished teacher, designer, seamstress, an energetic cook, gardener, and even housepainter. She has been described with one word: perfectionest. For over thirty-eight years, she freely gave her time and efforts to Clinton and its students, And it is because of these qualities that Clinton and the community remember Miss Claire Nowatzki. A teacher affects eternity, he can never tell where his influence stopsf' Henry Adams
