The dance band and the pep band take time out from a busy practice session to have their pictures made. They practiced during their study hall twice a week, and members took turns directing the pep band.

. AND THE BAN PL YEDO Fifty band members directed by Paul Fry ushered football and basket- ball seasons in with full fanfare. The entire band played and marched for every home football game, a.nd the fourteen bandsmen that compose the pep band musically supported the Tornadoes at the out-of-town football games and home basketball games. Entertaining CHS assemblies and hops, local civic clubs, and various grade school affairs, the fourteen ..- member dance band proved to be very popular . - FIRST ROW: Garry Sandlin, Mary Wise, Jim Orr, Barbara Burns, Virginia Corley, Karen Cabiness, Gary Rempfer, Mary Ann Gil- more, Judy Wolverton, Nancy Holland, Barbara Schroeder, Sherry Stockton, Tom Heath, Kay Burnett, Linda Gates, Marilyn Wil- liams, Larry Janzen, Sammy Ricks, and Mary McCoy. SECOND ROW: Margaret Friedrich, Virginia Nall, Chiquita Smith, Mutual Bryant, Charles Schroeder, Jim Alspaugh, David Hodges, Kenny srl , mu 1 if f Milf I ,Z Drum major Garry Sandlin and majorettes Mary McCoy, Sammy Ricks, and Mary Wise strutted -- and set the pace for the band members dressed in maroon and gold uniforms. The executive committee relaxes around the Hi-Fi after a business discussion. Garry Sandlin, president: David Stratton, vice-president, Sally Chittum, sec- retary-treasurerg Chiquita Smith, senior representative Carolyn Sights, junior representative, Mary Ann Gil- more, sophomore representativeg and Kay Burnett, freshmen representative, kept the band running in smooth order.
