For the initial tussle, the Tornadoes traveled to Woodward where two last-half touch- downs defeated them 20 to 6. They redeemed themselves at the first home game, defeating the Elk City Elks 32-6. Evidently the Tornadoes were not ready for the game of the year with their bitter rivals, the El Reno Indians, and went down before a powerful running attack to the tune of 21-O. The next week, the Tornadoes suffered their third defeat of the season at the hand of the strong Hollis Tigers 27-6. They came fighting back to maul Mangum 25-O the next week. Back home again Clinton met Anadarko, handing them a 2.9-0 defeat. Then came the big one--Homecoming! Out playin the undermanned Frederick team on a rainsoaked gridiron the Tornadoes trampled Siem 34-0. Victims of a powerful offensive team the Tornadoes were defeated a fourth time by Lawton 40-0. Rallying from the Lawton setback, the Tornadoes rounded the Sayre Eagles 39-0. At the last home game of the season, the favored Tornadoes fiught off a stubborn Hobart eleven as they plunged to victory 21-6. In the final game of the season, Altus defeated the Tornadoes 34-13, to walk off with the District l-A Conference crown, and go on to the state finals. Only two Tornado Lettermen will be lost this season and the entire starting lineup will return next year. 1953 , ornaclo Squat 4--6 '74-ff ,- .r -1 .'v15zni5L'Lu,,r. if j , ' 'hy'- 'fin' T ony Pu ' or .
