1951-BIOGRAPHICAL UPDATES--2001 John Armstrong Deceased. 1951 John plans to attend college at A. and M or OU afer graduation. He has attended Clinton schools-for his entire education and is the son ofMr. and Mrs. Ab Armstrong, John was a member ofthe student council when a feshman and played baseball with the American Legion team. He is employed by the C. R. Anthony department store. 2001 After graduating ftom high school, John Uohnnyj attended OU and received a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering. As part of the ROTC program in college, John was required to serve in the U.S. Army. He was a captain stationed in Hawaii for two years. While in Hawaii, John made some beautiful wood ftuniture that his wife, Mary, who he married when he was 32, still has. John and Mary have three children: Mike, Christie and Kelly. John also, has two grandchildren: Nadine, fMike'sJ and Hunter fKelley,sJ, neither of which he ever got to meet. After the Army, John worked for Phillips for approximately 25 years as Drilling Superintendent in Texas and then Arkansas. After Phillips, John worked for Exeter Drilling Co. for the remaining 10 years of his life as Drilling Manager first in Louisiana and then back to Texas. John died in Houston on March 27, 1991 of a heart attack. John was a special individual and is missed dearly by his family. 5 X , V: ag 6 Y Ronnie Baggett 110 N. Pine s1,P.o. B651 716 Linden, rx 75563 19031 756-7481 1951 Son if Mr. and Mrs. Ted Baggett who are now living in Sayre, Oklahoma. Ronnie has been in Clinton schools since hisfreshman year. He has been active in vocal music and speech work, winning the trophy for the most outstanding actor at the district one- act play Contest this year. He plans to enter Southwestern State College this fall. 2001 After graduation I attended Southwestem until I was drafted into the Army. I stayed in for twenty-seven years! In 1954 I married another CHS graduate, Annette Thomas, C531 I had assignments in Germany, France, Ft. Lewis Washington, and at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. I also spent several years at Fort Sill as an instructor in Nuclear Target Analysis. I had other tours in Korea and Viet Nam. I received my degree fiom Cameron University in 1972. After a four- year stint in Hawaii. I attended the US

1951-BIOGRAPHICAL UPDATES--2001 Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. My tinal Army assignment was at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas where I retired as a Colonel. 1 then worked for the state of Kansas tor ten years and retired again in 1988. Annette and 1 had four children. Our oldest son died at age 16 and our oldest daughter when she was 25. We have eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I enjoy woodworking and golf I love pleasing God and have been a Sunday School teacher since 1960. Annette stays busy doing volunteer work at the hospital and the local crisis center. OK 73021 f5801 929-7210 2001 You may recall that in my junior year I married Truman Smith and moved to a farm southeast of Hydro. We stayed there for two and a half years and in 1953 we moved to Clinton and run the PeeWee Grill for a couple of years. ln 1955 we opened a Maytag store but more importantly 1 went back to high school and finished in 1956. By this time we had two children. ln 1960 Truman became a preacher and we moved to a church in Rocky where we also farmed for three years. In 1963 we moved to Colony, 1 attended an advanced beauty school in 1970 and began working in a bank in 1974-1976. ln august 1976 we opened a cafe in Colony and began catering in 1980. We are still in that business plus we started a bed and breakfast and a wedding chapel in 1998. We are definitely not retired. We have three children and four grand children. We have been and still are very busy. Quay Ann fBentonj Grunewald 817 Blackburn Grand Prairie, TX 75050 1951 Quay Ann Benton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Benton, 224 North Eleventh, another graduating senior is planning to he a music teacher after she graduates from college with a Bachelor cy' Music education. At Clinton High School this year she won the annual Northrup Music Award and letter in vocal and instrumental music. Miss Benton has attended Clinton Schools for twelve years. She attended Nance and Washington grade schools. 2001 After the big G day in 1951, 1 attended OSU QOAMC, in those daysj until that Hfatefulw day in 1953 when I married Kenneth Grunewald.
