cSc joo 'Improvement Issociaiion This year the School Improvement Association inaugurated awards to be given the students at Clin- ton High School who demonstrated outstanding aca- demic achievement. These certificates were pre- sented to twelve students at the February meeting, when the students and their parents were guests at the meeting. We held a succesful rummage sale and auction in the fall, and plan to have another in the spring, and at the January meeting, held at the Town Hall, we entertained the students and their parents by pre- senting a magician from Augusta. At the March meeting, we were guests of the Fairfield Parent-Teacher Association, and were tak- en on a tour of Lawrence High School. One of the most successful projects of the year was the Book Fair we held in the fall. Parents and students alike enjoyed browsing through the wide variety of books displayed. The Association presented each class a sum of money to be used for books or other classroom aids, or sports equipment. Meeting the third Monday of each month, the Association is dedicated to helping the school child- ren in Clinton. The larger our membership, the more we can do for the schools. We hope to see the membership increase each year. President, Caroline Hotham President, Willard Steeves Treasurer, Frances Jones Secretary, Sandra Woods

( inion Directors School Ic rninistratioe District 49 LEFT TO RIGHT: James Huff, David Wright, Raymond Fisher. On December 13, 1965, the citizens of Clinton voted to have Clinton join with the towns of Benton and Fairfield to form a school administrative district. No major changes are anticipated for the current school year, but it is hoped that by the fall of 1966 additional rooms will be available at Lawrence High School so that the Clinton secondary school students will be able to participate in an expanded high school program. It is expected that improved school programs and efficiency will be possible for Clinton as a member of School Administrative District 49.
