J£e Uigers C Iin ton lliyfi ScAoo Dedication MOM . . . DAD Since the start of our formal education, the years have flown by. From our first struggle to learn our A.B.C.’s to our present attempts at senior English, you. our parents, have always been with us. You have shared our joys and sorrows, victories and defeats, hopes and dreams whether large or small. You have known and understood that this was a part of our growing up. And so, we the Senior Class of 1966, wish to dedicate this yearbook to you, our parents. We offer this dedication to you to express our appreciation for all the loving memories of your trust, confidence, wisdom, understanding, friendship, and love you have given us through these years LOOK FORWARD - UNDERCLASSMEN When we stop to think that we will be the last class to graduate from Clinton High School, we reflect nostalgically upon all the good times we’ve seen and the knowledge we’ve gained. Though only a small class, we have had the pleasure of knowing everyone and being like one big family. There have been many experiences we shared which we will never for- get. As Clinton High School becomes part of S. A. D. 49, the rewards will be numerous. The subjects may be harder but there will be a bigger range of courses from which to choose. The increase of courses and help should push each one of you underclassmen on to bigger and better things. Edith Rogers Assistant Editor LEFT TO RIGHT: B. Welch, E. Rogers, C. Trask, C. Hunter, D. On December 13, 1965, the citizens of Clinton voted to have Clinton join with the towns of Benton and Fairfield to form a school administrative district. No major changes are anticipated for the current school year, but it is hoped that by the fall of 1966 additional rooms will be available at Lawrence High School so that the Clinton secondary school students will be able to participate in an expanded high school program. It is expected that improved school programs and efficiency will be possible for Clinton as a member of School Administrative District 49. cSc joo 'Improvement Issociaiion This year the School Improvement Association inaugurated awards to be given the students at Clin- ton High School who demonstrated outstanding aca- demic achievement. These certificates were pre- sented to twelve students at the February meeting, when the students and their parents were guests at the meeting. We held a succesful rummage sale and auction in the fall, and plan to have another in the spring, and at the January meeting, held at the Town Hall, we entertained the students and their parents by pre- senting a magician from Augusta. At the March meeting, we were guests of the Fairfield Parent-Teacher Association, and were tak- en on a tour of Lawrence High School. One of the most successful projects of the year was the Book Fair we held in the fall. Parents and students alike enjoyed browsing through the wide variety of books displayed. The Association presented each class a sum of money to be used for books or other classroom aids, or sports equipment. Meeting the third Monday of each month, the Association is dedicated to helping the school child- ren in Clinton. The larger our membership, the more we can do for the schools. We hope to see the membership increase each year. We played nine games this season, against Benton, Unity, Hartland, Stratton, and Albion, losing only to Benton. Twenty-three boys played again this year, and were divided into two teams. Team A and Team B, both coached by Principal Ronald Spiegel. The Clinton Lions Club and the Clinton Jaycees generously allowed us to use the uniforms they had purchased for last year's team. A tournament is scheduled for Feb. 22-25, and we wish the team continued suc- cess in the remaining games. FIRST ROW: B. Hillman, K. Hendsbee, C. Welch, L. Welch, S. Wood, L. Starbird. SECOND ROW: W. The king, Paul Meservey and the queen, Suzanne Willett were crowned The dance for the first time was held on the field grounds. The rides and booths were open in the evening. The next day there was a gigantic parade which, in spite of the cold and wind, drew quite a large crowd. The parade featured the Dover-Foxcroft Academy Band, Lawrence High Band, and the Lewiston American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps. Sunday, the last day of the events, included a horse show and oxen pony pulling. This year's Field Day turned out to be very successful. By Suzanne Willett 5 c ) occer 7e am HRST ROW: D. As the season rolled along, the opponents became harder and we became unsuccessful as a team. The starting five were as follows: Guards, Norman Grenier and Fred Giles; Center, Dale Ross; Forwards, Robert Coro and Randall Dodge. Substitutes were Ralph Shorey, Stephen Weymouth, Stephen Blanchard, Larry Flewelling, and Leo Roy. All of us on the team greatly appreciate the time and effort Mr. Camp- bell put forth to help us.
