Class History We, the members of the class of 1957, entered Clinton High School in September 1953, eager to start our high school careers. Later on, we lost one of our members. At our first meeting, we elected the following class officers: President, Beverly Gerald; Vice President, Lawrence Pooler; Secretary, Beryl Rediker; and Treasurer, Constance Weymouth. Our Student Council representatives were Carlene Bessey and John McLellan. The first event was our Freshman Initiation and Reception, an event we will always remember. We were sworn in as full-pledged. Representing our class on the basketball teams were; Carlene Bessey, Alberta Proctor, Constance Weymouth, Eleanor Drew, John Tapley, Lawrence Pooler, Gary Foss, Scott Howard, John McLellan, and Leroy Hunter. Richard Beale was one of the managers. There were four cheerleaders from our class: Beverlv Gerald, Janet Starbird, Antoinette King, and Beryl Rediker. We put on a play entitled The Devilstone with the following in the cast: Helen York, Constance Weymouth, Janet Starbird, Johnny McLellan, Scott Howard, and Gerald Watson. In September 1954, we enrolled again with twenty-eight members. Later, we lost eight of our members. At our first class meeting, with Miss Woodworth as our advisor, we elected the following officers: President, Antoinette King; Vice President, Prunella LaRocque; Secretary, Carlene Bessey; Treasurer, Scott Howard. Our class was first represented on the Student Council by Beryl Rediker; later, Constance Weymouth and Gary Foss served as our representatives. Our first activity was initiating the incoming freshmen which was most successful. The following members of our class participated in sports; Gary Foss, Leroy Hunter, Lawrence Pooler, Scott Howard, John McLelland, Helen York, Constance Weymouth, Carlene Bessey, Antoinette King, Eleanor Drew, and Alberta Proctor. We were also represented on the cheering squad by Antoinette King, Beverly Gerald, and Constance Weymouth. In September 1955, we enrolled for our third year with twenty members; but later, we lost three. We elected the following officers at our first class meeting: President, Carlene Bessey; Vice Resident, Leroy Hunter; Secretary, Gerald Watson; Treasurer, Richard Beale. We were represented on the Student Council by Beverly Gerald and John McLellan. Miss Chandler was our class advisor.
