MARCH Whoopyl ll The six weeks has gone by and not one red mark. Student Council brings Mr. Bob McElroy, a very good ventriloquist, to entertain us. The Dramatics Club in connection with the Choir bring us the Showboat Musical. The Sophomores have a gala time at their class party. Everyone is hoping for the best team to win at the Semi-Final tourneys. The Freshmen are joyous as it is again the time for another class party. APRIL That's my little dar1ing, Mama says. Moms and Dads come to the Physical Ed. Show to see their sons and daughters perform at their best. Choir and band students entertain at the Spring Musical Festival under the direction of Mr. Norton and Mr. McCool. Students and teachers get a vacation, Reason - SPRING FEVER, Do I look all right? This is the big question asked by the girls who are participating in the Annual Style Show. Moms and Dads eagerly look for their baby's best work at the annual Exhibit. MAY Evening in Paris is the theme for the Prom this year. The gym looks simply lovely, decorated in a 'Gay Paree' style. Music is furnished by the Six Men of Note. Seniors will their precious cords to underclassmen. Boy, what a mess these cords are inl But they are still cherished, aren't they? As the seniors attend Baccalaureate services, they begin to realize that their high school days are almost over. At Commencement exercises seniors receive their diplomas - some with smiling faces and some with rather sad faces. C. H. S. closes for the summer. Big question asked: What shall I do this summer? DECEMBER Coaches give the football awards out. It must have turned cold all of a sudden because it seems as though everyone has to put on his jacketl Clinton has scored again by an easy victory over Cayuga 86-59. Reverend Shephard's talk is the first in a series of pre -Christmas religious programs. Mrs. Louise Mills shows the Home Ec, Club some tips on hair styles. Everyone is hiding with shame as the teachers pass out the red report cards again. The Girls' Ensemble make their debut in a program at the Methodist Church. The Wildcats rage to victory by over-running the Golden Arrows, The Latin Club and Student Librarians have again done a beautiful job in decorating the trees in the Study Hall and School Library. What a terrific struggle it was to overpower the Sycamores 60 to 57. Father Wilhelm of Sacred Heart explains to us the geographical part of Bethlehem. The Majorettes twirl to the tune of Happy Whistler as the Wildcats roar to victory over Crawfordsville 60 to 58. Worry and Woe as we sign up for the next semester. Ohl the heartbreak as we lose to Brazil. As the last of three religious speakers, Reverend Lindberg gives the student body one of his marvelous speeches. Everyone enjoys himself very much as we attend the Peppermint Ball given by the Student Council. Joy to the Worldl ll We are free at last after fussing and fuming through the annual Christmas program. The Home Ec. Club travels to Terre Haute and visits the Smart Appearance Beauty School, where each girl receives a free shampoo and hair set. Later they visit the Goodie Shop Kitchen and the new Home Ec. Building at Indiana State Teachers College. K IANUARY Once again the vacation is over as we return to settle down to hard work and study! I Rahll Rahll We crushed Linton 59 to 57. We 'witnessed an easy victory over the Newport Tigers by beating them 59 to 34. The 'chalk talks as Mr. Bob Wood presents some of his famous drawings. The Pep Band travels to Attica to see the Wildcats lose to the Ramblers 73 to 65. We begin the Wabash Valley Tourneys as we romp over the St. Bernice Hornets 88 to 59. Again we conquer the Perrysville Eagles 74 to 55. We edge out the Dana Aggies by defeating them 58 to 55. We begin the new semester as we watch President Eisenhower's Innauguration for the second time. The team motors to Rockville to rout out the Kansas Bulldogs 74 to 71. The big 5 drive the Richland Twp. Devils into a double overtime topping them with a sizzling finish of 65 to 63. Woe is us - - we lose to the Greencastle Bearcubs 72 to 69. Mr. Se Yip Loo entertains the student body with a talk about the Chinese customs, costumes, and language. Another downfall as we lose to the Wiley Red Streaks 72 to 51. Many turn out for the pancake supper sponsored by the Band Boosters. FEBRUARY The Blackcats of Tech outrank us by a score of 80 to 42. Marilyn Ellis wins the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Award. Our heads hang low as we lose to Rockville 70 to 63. We rub it in deep as we beat Dugger 70 to 64. Band members journey to Terre Haute to participate in the Wabash Valley Band Contest. Mr. Hall speaks to the Seniors on the joys of attending Indiana University. The Indians are once more on the war path as Bill Jones demonstrates for some of the students and teachers. Another victory as we overtake Honey Creek 62 to 41. The Eighth grade celebrates Valentine's Day by having their class party. Helpl ll Ben Davis massacres us 94 to 66. Social Study department presents a program for the studen body about Washington and Lincoln. You never knew there were so many Seventh graders till they all tum out for their class party. As our basketball season draws to a close we battle Garfield to the finish. We again try our best as we march to Rockville to play in the Sectional Tourneys.
