The Wildcats were undefeated both in conference games and non-conference games. The team showed much power, both offensively and defensively, During a full season of play only three errors were committed. Six of the first nine players, having a batting average of average . 300 per cent, were responsible for the great offensive power of the team. Throughout the course of the season, Gerry Dick pitched three ball games in which he only allowed one hit per game. At the close of the season the following boys were selected on either the first or second Western Indiana All-Conference Team: Louis Giovanini, George Latinovich, Bob Mirkovich, Terry Stewart, Richard Bennett, and Gerry Dick. Also, at the close of the season, Gerry Dick was elected Captain, and received the Most Valuable Player Award for I956. Following his graduation from Clinton High School, he attended Indiana State Teachers College and graduated with a BS degree. Later he received his MA degree. His first teaching position was in Clinton High School where he taught mathematics. He then was an in- structor in Thomas Carr Howe High School of Indianapolis for one year. During World War II his career was interrupted when he left to serve with our armed forces overseas. After the war he returned to Clinton High School where he taught mathematics and drivers' training until he accepted the position of principal. SENIOR CLASS HISTORY It was four years ago that we, the class of nineteen hundred and fifty-seven, entered Clinton High School. Of course, we were only green freshmen then. We have had unpleasant experiences, but they have been greatly outnumbered by pleasant ones. As we look back, we find that our four years have gone much too fast. Our first problem was finding our classrooms. Yes, we were quite mixed up at first. We soon learned, though, with the patience and help of our teachers and upperclassmen. One of the first things we did was to elect class officers. They were: President, Allen Brown: Vice President, Penny DalSassog Secretary, Jo Ann Shaubig and Treasurer, Nancy Carty. We received our first report cards and found out we needed to study much harder. As we entered our sophomore year, we felt so much wiser. We now knew where all the rooms were, and we also tried to talk and chew gum in the assembly as the seniors did. But we got caught and were just silly sophomores to the seniors. Then came our biggest moment since we were in high school. We, the Class of 57 , were flashing our shining new rings. We were not only proud of our new rings but also of the fact that we were in the spotlight for awhile. Now we were looking forward to being juniors. During our junior year we never had any spare moments. The first thing we did was to launch a magazine sale with a grand total of SI, 906. 18. We celebrated our magazine sales with a party with everything free. The next thing we did was to join the seniors to present The Little Dog Laughed . After the play we began working on our prom. Many long hours of work were put into it. On May 4 we didn't even recognize our gym. The seniors thought they were stepping into Hawaii when we presented to them Bali Ha'i . At last, seniors! Everyone was wearing senior cords. Pizza was enjoyed at our last class party entitled Green Door . Again we joined forces with the juniors to present the Junior-Senior Class Play, We took scholarship exams for the school of our choice, and a number of us won scholarships, We attended a beautiful prom, our going away present from the juniors. Then came the senior picnic and baccalaureate. The last thing was graduation. As we walked across the stage to receive our diplomas, all the events of our four years passed through our minds. Yes, they had gone much too fast. In our hearts, though, we shall always remember those four wonderful years, our classmates, teachers, and most of all Clinton High School.
