SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS AND SPONSORS Nick Karanovich, President; Margaret Clarke, Vice-President; Shirley Jones, Treasurer; Bill Bollock, Secretary; Mrs. Bennett and Mr. Hoskell, Sponsors SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Four years have passed since we, the class of nineteen hundred and fifty-six, have entered Clinton High School. As we look back through the years, we see that they are filled with memor- ies that shall never fade. Sometimes we were a sad bunch, but much more often our years were filled with happiness. Our first year, as green and gangly freshmen, we encountered an altogether new life in high school. As the first report cards were issued, and as each teacher placed a grade (which was not always the top) on the card, we realized that this was not all play after all. We envied the aloof Seniors, everything seemed so easy for them. They never had to study and always seemed to have a minimum of books, if any. As our second year came upon us, we felt that we were much wiser and we were really begin- ning to know our way around. But of course, to the Seniors we were still those silly Sophomores. We got in the spotlight for awhile though, when we received our class rings. They were the most beautiful things we had ever possessed. But we were anxiously awaiting our Junior year and then, all of a sudden, there it was! Our Junior year was full of activity. We went scurrying from one event to another at break- neck speed. We joined the Seniors to produce two one-act plays which were well received and en- joyed by all who attended them. A magazine sale was launched and we canvassed Clinton and nearby towns in an effort to make our quota. The prom consisted of work, anticipation, and plea- sure as the guests arrived and enjoyed the decorations and entertainment. The Seniors were leav- ing, and through our tears came the thought that next year we would be Seniors. The great day had arrived. We were, after four long years, Seniors! We joined the Junior class to present a three-act play, a comedy, through which underclassmen and adults had many a mirth-filled moment. We took scholarship exams and a number of us received scholarships to the schools of our choice. We also were interviewed by the Indiana Placement Bureau and some of us took aptitude tests (trying to prove that we were good for something!) It seemed as though the year had just begun, but the picnic, baccalaureate, and graduation were upon us. As we passed onto the stage to receive our diplomas, we felt a tug at our hearts and each of us felt sad that these four wonderful years were at an end. None of us will ever forget these years. And we shall al- ways remember our classmates, teachers, and most of all Clinton High School. Page 10 Compliments of: T. V. CENTER, R. C. A.
