ON THE REVIEWING STAND Here we are mighty seniors—standing on the doorstep of a wonderful, vital future! We can still remember the feeling of that day—4 years ago—when first we walked into this school as freshmen. What a wonderfully exhilerated feeling it gave us! When our feet finally touched the ground, we went about the business of electing officers. They were: President, Gene Chambers; Vice-President, Marilyn Davis; Secretary, Norma Haymaker; and Treasurer, Mina Vale. Our sponsors were Mrs. Schelsky and Mr. Haverstock. Time passed and so did we. As sophomores we were a little less green” and definitely less gullible. We went about the routine business of electing officers and sponsors. Our officers were: President, Carm Ricauda; Vice-President, Dick Giacoletto; Secretary, Valonda Viso; and Treas- urer, Joan Kennedy. Miss Hennis and Mr. Bare were our sponsors. Carm Ricauda was our leader during our junior year. Helping her were Mary Lou Ferguson, Felicia Carrera, and Joyce Marietta. Miss Brown and Mr. Marietta were our faculty advisors. Busy as bees could have been our motto, for we worked like fiends all year—selling mcgazines; producing an extra special class play, Star Light, Star Bright ; and building a Stairway to the Stars to light up the last days for the seniors. Year of years! Seems like something was always happening to us seniors. First came our class play, Stranger in the Night.” Later on we had our picnic-and last of all, our Baccalau- reate and Commencement exercises. Our last days were spent in paying tribute to C. H. S. and the long suffering faculty that helped us through our high school career. 10 Compliments of: ARAGON PARK MAGNABOSCO GROCERY Allison, Wayne Everett, College Band, Basketball, Junior Class Play, Inter Nos Anderson, Anita Lou, College Dramatics Club, Booster Club, Choir, Girls’ State Elect, Inter Nos, Band Andrews, Bette Jo, General Home Economics Club, Choir, Triple Trio Armstrong, Shirley, Commercial G. Trouble and romance enter the story in the person of Grant Terry, a handsome young newspaper columnist, who hears ugly murmurings of dire deeds soon to take place at the gift shop. It seems that someone connected with the gift shop is to be killed. Everyone develops a guilty conscience and goes around with an it s me complex. All turns out well in the end; no one is killed and a romance for Sylvia and Grant materi- alizes. CAST Sylvia__ Mable___ Grant___ Rutledge Velda _ Clifford Student Director Stage Manager.. Linton later claimed Western Indiana Conference’s highest honor. Clinton 38--Dugger 6 We came back from the Linton defeat beating Dugger with little trouble. Clinton 47--Gerstmeyer Tech 7 Clinton really walloped Tech. It was our game all the way. Clinton 67--Westville 6 Clinton’s experienced team proved just too strong for Westville’s green squad; we scored almost at will. Clinton 14--Garfield 7 Garfield came to Clinton with high spirits, but the Wildcats proved too much in the tight spots. Clinton 40—Bicknell 0 Bicknell didn’t have a good record when we played them and it was a little worse when we finished. Clinton 52—Sullivan 0 This was our homecoming game. Before a capacity crowd Clinton’s powerhouse team smothered Sull ivan. Clinton 33—Wiley 6 Clinton fans were a little disappointed with this game. We were favored to win by a great many more points! Clinton 31 —Danville 13 Clinton’s Wildcats had trouble getting started through the Maroons' big line. But once we got started there was no stopping us. Clinton 26—Brazil 0 For a while Clinton’s Wildcats were “Mudcats”, but we succeeded in making proud Brazil go beneath the yoke. To sum it all up, Clinton had its best football season in many years. As many fans remarked, the team reminded them of our famous teams of bygone years when Clinton was renowned for its football victories. Compliments of: STEVENSON LUMBER CO.
