“One Step Closer” £ K Hjh if I II , P l 1 conning football game and dance we were over-flowing with excitement and energy helping us to gain the title of the most spirited class. At last, after two years of unsuccessful attempts we proved that the class of ' 83 really was number one! In May the prom arrived and after that short memorable event the year quickly In our junior year we returned livlier than ever and we looked to the ex- citing year that was facing us with the determination to make it one of our best. As usual in mid-September we voted for student officers, electing Angela latrou, once again, as presi- dent, Daniel Devaney, Vice- President, Kathleen Hazel, Secre- tary, and Nancy Mitchell as Treasur- er. It wasn ' t long before we were in the full swing of things, selling ban- ners at the football games, sponsor- ing bake sales and raffles, and making plans for the Homecoming Dance. Finally, in November, the week we had been waiting for arrived. It was our year to sponsor Spirit week and with that, along with the Home- came to a close. The last month of school rushed by, leaving us only with recollections of the fun and laughter we had and the unfor- tunate realization that there was only one year remaining to share together as a class.

“Looks Like We Made It” On September 1, 1982 as we entered our Senior year we realized that the end of our school life was not far away. We looked forward, with much anticipation, to our future events such as Spirit Week, the Senior Hop, Interclass Dramatics, and Senior Week. Spirit week was early in the year and although we were depressed at it being our last we promised to end our four years with success. We worked together as a class with determination and achieved our goal. The time ticked away and before we realized, March 18 the date of the Hop, had arrived, leaving only two months to spend together. During those last days we spent much of our time recalling our past and the special friends we had found in our classmates, teachers, and advisors. The finale of our four years together came on June 2, the night of our class banquet and two short days afterward was Graduation Day. We accepted our diplomas with pride and fond mem- ories of C.H.S. but the sadness at leaving the school was inevitable. Now we are off to lives and futures of our own and although some of us will never meet again we will always share the cherished moments of our past and the spirit of the Class of ' 83 will live in our hearts forever!
